Jozefien Vanherpe is an assistant professor at CiTiP focusing on intellectual property law. She studied law at KU Leuven and completed her studies Magna Cum Laude in June 2013. In June 2014, Jozefien obtained a First Class degree from the University of Cambridge as well as a Bateman Scholarship and the Ian Malcolm Lewis Prize for Law from her college, Trinity Hall. From 2014 through 2018, Jozefien was active as an associate specialised in intellectual property law with Belgian law firms Eubelius and CAPE IP Law. On 28 March 2022, she publicly defended her PhD on the legal framework of contractual dynamics in the digitised music industry, which was written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Evelyne Terryn (supervisor) and Prof. Dr. Marie-Christine Janssens (co-supervisor). She was appointed as an assistant professor at CiTiP from 1 October 2022 onwards. She teaches a range of courses on intellectual property law. Jozefien is a Member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI), the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP), the Beneluxvereniging voor Merken- en Modellenrecht (BMM) and the Belgische Vereniging voor het Auteursrecht (BVA), as well as a Fellow of the European Law Institute (ELI).
