Yannick Perez was born in 1971 and took his Master’s degree and PhD in economics at University La Sorbonne in France. He became assistant professor at University de Cergy (2000-2003) and he was tenured associate professor of Economics at University Paris-Sud (2003-2019). Since October 2008, he is chief economic advisor of the Loyola de Palacio Chair on European Energy Policy at the European University Institute.

In February 2012, he joined the Armand Peugeot research chair on Electromobility as Senior Research Fellow. Yannick Perez has conducted research for a number of industrial companies: EDF, Areva, Gaz de France, PSA, l’Agence Nationale de Régulation de l’Energie (ANARE) de Cote d’Ivoire, Verbund and Edison. He has supervised 4 Ph.D. theses and is currently supervising 9 Ph.D. doctorates.

Since September 2019, he is Full Professor of Economics in CentraleSupélec, France.
