Salvatore Scalzo graduated with a Master’s of Science Degree in “European Studies” (with a Law track) at La Sapienza” University in Rome and with a research-oriented Master Programme “Analysing Europe” at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. He has been working for about ten years in the European Commission. He is currently a policy and legal officer in the AI Unit of DG CNECT working on the new legal framework on AI. Before joining DG CNECT, he had a six-year experience in the medical device Unit of DG GROW where he dealt with the negotiations of the new Regulations on medical devices and the medical software dossier.
