Pilar studied law in Spain and has an LLM in European Law from the College of Europe (Bruges). After working for 3 years in the Spanish Telecommunications Agency, she joined the Commission in 2007, where she started working in the Directorate‑General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology dealing with regulatory issues for electronic communications. Since 2012 she has been working in the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, where she deals with issues related to the free movement of goods and EU product legislation, as well as the Product Liability Directive.
